Locum Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist Learning Disabilities
£130K to £150K
Goodall Brazier is looking for a Consultant Forensic/Consultant Psychiatrist with some Learning disabilities experience but not essential based in Hampshire.
Job Role We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist/Learning disabilities to join our multidisciplinary team.
This is a 39 bed low secure and locked rehab hospital that provides a service for men with learning disability and autism spectrum disorder, and for women with learning disability including those with varying degrees of challenging behaviors and forensic histories. They work collaboratively with the patients and their families or carers and provide person-centred rehabilitation, care and support Locked Rehabilitation Specialist Autism Unit for Males/Women.
They employ staff in a variety of different roles and provide ongoing support with comprehensive training, learning and development opportunities.
The low secure provision in the area is a highly specialist service. The central location of the hospital results in referrals from a wide area, primarily from the South.
The service is commissioned by NHS England, NHS Wales and Clinical Commissioning Groups.
Responsible for the highly specialist assessment, treatment and management of complex female patients with intellectual disability suffering from personality disorder, trauma, psychosis and who exhibit behavior that challenges.
Preparing for and participating in external reviews (including care and treatment reviews, QCQ inspections and Quality Network reviews)
Mental Health Act related work risk assessments and management in conjunction with the clinical team.
Chairing MDT and CPA/ CTP meetings•
Contributing to clinical governance and taking responsibility for quality improvement by setting and maintaining standards within the service•
Liaising with external agencies and relatives Providing clinical leadership to the multi-disciplinary team•
Contributing to site based training of staff where necessary, including Medical students from Keele University.•
Maintaining and developing academic links Requirements Fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice at the time of appointment•
Registered as a Specialist in Psychiatry on GMC Specialist Register (or are eligible for such inclusion)
Approved under Section 12 (2) of the Mental Health Act
A member of an appropriate Medical Defense Union and able to motivate, lead and supervise a team
