Compass Associates are currently assisting one of the largest private healthcare providers in their recruitment for experienced Biomedical Scientists at one of their hospitals in Oxford.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated HCPC registered BMS with at least 1 years experience of working in a laboratory. You will be able to plan, analyse, assess and report pathology investigations. Analyse, interpret and report information and knowledge related to ideas and concepts.
You will plan, analyse, assess and report pathology investigations, ensuring the pathology service are provided in an accurate, efficient and cost effective manner. You must be able to think swiftly to recognise urgent cases and liaise with Critical Care, Consultants and Theatre staff to provide excellent clinical care. You will help develop plans to improve the service and assist in the maintenance of the quality system for CPA/ISO accreditation.
Biomedical Scientist with the Health Professions Council.
Previous experience in a scientific laboratory.
Minimum 2 years experience in Histolopathology/ Histology in a Lab environment

Previous experience of independent sector
Strategically commercial and familiarity with service developments.
Experience of working in partnership with consultants and participating in helping to create innovative solutions for new pathology services.
Plan, analyse, assess and report pathology investigations.
Analyse, interpret and report information and knowledge related to ideas and concepts.
Develop and evaluate the movement of laboratory specimens, blood and tissues.
Assist with research and development.
Plan, monitor and quality assure the application of technology for measuring and monitoring pathology investigations.
Provide and receive complex , sensitive or contentious information.
Develop own knowledge and skills and that of others.
Promotes best practice in health and safety and security.
Assist in maintaining and developing services.
Contribute to quality improvement.
Support and enable equality, diversity and rights.
1st Stage - Walkaround and meet and greet with the Pathology Manager
2nd Stage - Formal interview with Pathology Manager and assessment of skills and experience.
