The hospital is a medium and low secure service, providing personalised assessment and treatment programmes for male & female service users with complex care needs, histories of offending, along with those who may have failed in previous placements.
The combination of medium secure and low secure wards, provide a seamless internal care pathway, supporting and empowering service users in their recovery and rehabilitation. At each stage of their recovery pathway, their multidisciplinary team works collaboratively with service users to deliver personalised treatment programmes. Service users are given the opportunity to develop new skills, optimise functioning, and improve quality of life and progress towards the least restrictive setting and to independence.
As a Speciality Doctor you will support up to two Consultant Forensic Psychiatrists in patient care. You will be expected to participate in a non-resident on-call rota. The successful candidates will have experience in psychiatry; possession of MRCPsych and some forensic experience is desirable.
There is a programme of internal CPD activities. Candidates will be expected to register with the Royal College of Psychiatrists for accreditation of the CPD. Attendance at external educational activities is encouraged, including those provided by other companies Secure Hospitals.
The integrated strength of each service provides a seamless transition for the individual as they progress between higher and lower dependency care and across services.
