Enabling our patients with mental health difficulties to receive a truly integrated and holistic approach to their treatment, regardless of complexity or severity, thanks to the knowledge and expertise of our multidisciplinary clinical teams.
The hospital is in Cardiff, a low secure hospital providing multidisciplinary care for up to 30 adults with a diagnosis of a learning disability, who may also present mental illness, personality disorder and an autistic spectrum condition.
Treatment programmes aim to reduce the presenting mental health issues and offending behaviours in a low secure setting, where risk can be managed and reduced in order to allow service users to step down into less restrictive environments.
Successful candidate will be providing clinical care for learning disability service users with a background of sexual offending, personality disorder, self-harm, challenging behaviour, substance misuse and psychosis.
Specialty Doctors will join a large team of substantive medical staff working across a range of specialist services. We offer training opportunities across a range of specialties and have an excellent track record in supporting Specialty Doctors to achieve success in professional examinations and move on to higher specialist training.
Successful candidates will need to hold a medical degree (MB ChB or equivalent), full GMC registration with licence to practice and a minimum of one year's experience in mental health. In return we can offer you a solid commitment to your CPD, help with Mrcpsych exams and a wide variety of clinical practice not usually available within the NHS.
The integrated strength of each service provides a seamless transition for the individual as they progress between higher and lower dependency care and across services. This unique approach ensures that every individual has the opportunity to achieve the best possible outcomes and quality of life with the organisation.
