Educational Psychologist | £350 - £500 per day | South West Wales
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and adaptable individual who is passionate about providing excellent social support and the delivery of clean safe care.
This is a temporary position, with the possibility of an ongoing contract subject to your performance, making this a particularly exciting opportunity for applicants.
1.Promote the use of psychology in order to improve the outcomes and emotional well-being of children and young people.
2.To work with schools and settings to provide children, pupils and staff with an educational psychology service. This will include, as necessary, direct work with children and families, advice, consultation and support to schools in the general application of psychology to good evidence based practice and systems.
3.To provide an educational psychology service to children in the Early Years Foundation stage. This work to include as necessary direct work with children and families, consultation and support in the general application of psychology and appropriate inputs to training for professionals involved with this group.
4.To advise the Authority about individual children with special needs. This will include all aspects of statutory assessment tasks.
5.To contribute to the Authority's critical incident response procedures.
6.To contribute to the Authority's programmes of staff development for members of the children's workforce.
7.To keep accurate, up to date records of all contacts and work relating to children, young people and their families in accordance with service protocols.
8.At all times to liaise with other services inside and outside the LA.
9.Develop skills and knowledge through participation in the process of supervision, and being supervised by colleagues and the line managers. Contribute to the induction of new staff, supervise educational psychologists in training and undertaking further training as part of continuing professional development.
10.Advise and support colleagues in order to share expertise and knowledge. To initiate and contribute to projects and research at a local and strategic level.
11.To appear at SEN Tribunals where it is appropriate to do so as a witness.
12.To take part in meetings, including service and team, within the Educational Psychology Service and within Children and Younger Adults department as a whole.
